Additional features: Welcome Message
Always on. The Welcome message is the first text users see before they type anything. It’s great for setting expectations and offering a clear call-to-action. You can’t disable it, but you can edit it anytime.
What it does
- Displays a short, customizable greeting at the top of the chat (supports Markdown: bold, italics, links, bullets).
- Works alongside other features—mention file upload, voice mode, or key capabilities if they’re enabled.
Edit in the UI
- Open your agent → Edit.
- In Additional features, click the gear icon next to Welcome message.
- Enter your greeting in the Agent Greeting drawer and close it.
- Publish to apply.
Best practices
- Keep it short (1–2 sentences).
- State what the agent can do and give a clear prompt to start.
- Mention enabled features only if relevant (e.g., uploads, voice).
- Use Markdown sparingly for emphasis or quick bullets.
Do
- “Hi! I can answer HR policy questions and create IT tickets. Upload a file or ask your question to begin.”
- “Research Assistant — I summarize docs, search the KB, and draft emails. Try: ‘Summarize this PDF in 5 bullets.’”
Don’t
- Long paragraphs, sales copy, or instructions unrelated to the agent’s scope.
Examples you can paste
- General:“How can I help you today? Ask a question or upload a file to get started.”
- HR Agent: “I can answer questions about EVS & Global Travel policies and raise support tickets. What do you need help with?”
- With voice: “You can type or use voice mode. Try: ‘Create a leave request for next Monday.’”
