Credit usage warnings

Credit usage warnings let you set monthly credit thresholds at the account level and the project level. When usage crosses a threshold, SimplAI emails the relevant admins so they can act before credits are exhausted.

How thresholds work

You define a threshold as a percentage of a monthly credit pool:

  • Account-level threshold — a percentage of your total monthly account credits.
  • Project-level threshold — a percentage of a project's monthly credit limit.

The threshold is fully configurable. If you don't set one, the default is 80%.

Thresholds are evaluated on a monthly basis, aligned to your monthly credit allocation. Each new month starts fresh against the configured percentage.

Who gets warned

When a threshold is crossed, the warning is sent as an email:

Threshold typeRecipients
Account levelAll Account Admins
Project levelAll Account Admins and the Project Admins of that project

Account Admins always see account-level warnings; project-level warnings additionally reach the admins of the specific project that crossed its limit. See Users & RBAC for the role definitions.

A matching warning is also surfaced in the in-product notifications panel as notifications roll out.

Configuring thresholds

  1. Open the workspace administration / billing area where credit limits are managed.
  2. Set the account-level warning threshold as a percentage of total monthly credits (defaults to 80%).
  3. For each project, set the project-level warning threshold as a percentage of that project's monthly credit limit (defaults to 80%).
  4. Save. The new threshold applies from the current monthly cycle onward.

Configuring account-level thresholds requires Account Admin or Owner. Project-level thresholds can be managed by the project's Project Admin within the scope of their projects.

Notes

  • A warning is an alert, not a hard stop — it notifies admins as usage approaches the limit. It does not by itself pause workloads.
  • You can set the threshold to whatever percentage suits your team; lower values give earlier notice.
